Mind Control Tricks of Successful People

mind_controlOne Sunday afternoon a crowd of people went to watch an Oakland Raiders game. During the second quarter, 5 different people came to the infirmary feeling ill and vomiting. The doctor on staff found that most of them were sitting in one end of the stadium. Suspecting food poisoning, he had security shut down the concessions stands on that side of the building and had stadium officials make a public announcement over the loud speakers instructing fans not to visit concession stands in that area due to the possibility of food poisoning.

Before long, almost 200 people from that part of the stadium came to the infirmary feeling sick and showing other symptoms of food poisoning. The staff began sending people over to the hospital for treatment when the doctor made a discovery.…

13 Ways to Deal with the Loss of a Loved One

Grief-and-Grieving

Last week a reader named Mike mentioned that he was having a hard time dealing with the sudden passing of his father. I was very humbled by the responses from our other readers who gave advice on how to deal with the grieving process. The comments were so wonderful and heartfelt that I thought they would be nice to share with everyone. So here they are. I have edited a few of them just to add detail or bring consistency to the overall post.

Thank you so much for making Successify! such an incredible online community.

1. Embrace the sorrow. Sorrow is not the opposite of happiness. Sorrow can be called the “beautiful sadness” when the feeling comes from a mixture of great appreciation and extreme longing for the loved one who has passed.…

Could You Have Saved the Titanic?

Could You Have Saved the Titanic?

TitanicDo you remember that scene from Titanic where they first spot the iceberg in their path? They call down to the Captain of the ship to let him know and he calls over to the crewman to turn the wheel all the way to the side. “Is it all the way over?” he yells. “Yes sir, hard over!” comes the reply. The ship slowly starts to turn but because of it’s enormous size it takes a while for the ship to come around. In the end, the effort was too late as the Titanic scraped along the side of the iceberg, punching holes in the ship, leading to the sinking of the greatest ship ever built.

You are currently the captain of an equally enormous and incredible ship.…

15 Pieces of Baggage Making You Sink!

Imagine you are in a small boat in the middle of the ocean. You are paddling towards a small island where you will spend 3 months of peaceful relaxation. In the boat you have gathered all of your favorite things. But as you paddle towards the island, you realize there is a small hole in your boat. Water is coming in faster than you can bale it out. Before long you realize that your only hope is to paddle to the island as fast as you can and arrive before the boat sinks completely. But as you paddle harder and harder, you realize that your baggage on the boat is too heavy to allow you to move quickly.

The only immediate solution is to get rid of excess weight by throwing most of your baggage overboard.…

How I Beat King Kong…And You Can Too!

How I Beat King Kong…And You Can Too!

One of my favorite hobbies is road cycling. I like it so much that I get up at 4:30 every morning to go and put myself through pain and suffering. One of the routes we ride takes us up a hill that we affectionately call “King Kong.” It isn’t very long but it is pretty steep. You have to shift into a pretty easy gear to get to the top without killing yourself.

When I first started riding back in high school, “King Kong” was my nemesis. I could make it to the top but I always got passed by all of the other riders. Even as I got better I was consistently getting left behind by riders who I knew were not as strong as I was.…

Wake Up

Last night someone asked me why I started Successify! I have always had different answers to this question but none of them ever seemed to describe why I really started it or what it’s purpose is.

As I thought more about it on the drive home, these words came to mind:

“I look out and see a world full of promise and opportunity…and it is waiting.

I look around and see people full of promise and potential…but they are sleeping.”

And I realized that it was a great way to describe what I’m trying to do. I feel like we live in an amazing world where it has been proven time and time again that ANYBODY can rise up and create a fabulous and successful life.…

7 Steps to Developing a Habit

Picture
This article was posted recently by Brian Tracy. It is a great article and talks a lot about the basic premise of my book “The 3-Week Miracle”. I hope you enjoy it!

By Brian Tracy:
How long does it take to develop a new habit? The time period can be any length from a single second to several years. The speed of new habit pattern development is largely determined by the intensity of the emotion that accompanies the decision to begin acting in a particular way.
Many people think, talk about and resolve to lose weight and become physically fit. This may go on for years. Then one day, the doctor says that, “If you don’t get your weight down and improve your physical condition, you are in danger of dying at an early age.”

Suddenly, the thought of dying can be so intense or frightening that the individual immediately changes his diet, begins exercising, stops smoking and becomes a healthy and fit person.…
